LinkEx is prepared for holiday shipping impacts

As we enter the holiday shopping (and shipping!) season of 2022, the global supply chain as a whole faces several speed bumps that could affect transit times. They include a workforce that is still recovering from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, customer demand patterns that are changing and evolving, and weather which is predicted to play a significant role in how efficiently the supply chain operates in the last quarter.

Contingency plans for meeting end-of-month/end-of-quarter/end-of-year quotas are necessary to ensure that freight arrives by target delivery dates.

Carriers are also monitoring weather as we close out hurricane season and enter the winter season.  Hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding, ice, snowstorms – all these weather-related events greatly impact the transportation network.  When these events inevitably occur, carriers are utilized to move relief supplies to affected areas. LinkEx has had the distinct honor of providing relief supplies several times to communities that have fallen victim to adverse weather. During the COVID-19 pandemic, LinkEx delivered thousands of hospital beds across the country, ensuring those sickened had a bed in which to recover. Our drivers worked tirelessly to deliver over 50,000 bottles of water to stores facing empty shelves. Hurricane Ian battered parts of Florida and LinkEx was called to action to deliver generators and water to those in need. When weather strikes, we ensure that our customers are receiving quality service by consolidating LTL shipments wherever possible, forming truckload-sized shipments. After bypassing areas adversely struck by weather, these shipments are then distributed from a designated warehouse or Saia terminal.

LinkEx is preparing for these varied impacts to the market by adopting new technology that will aid in reducing costs while providing more efficient service. In turn, this new technology will allow customers better visibility of shipments and up-to-the-minute tracking. Flexibility and the ability to adapt to market demands while providing excellent customer service are the bedrock upon which LinkEx is built.

LinkEx is uniquely positioned to service all logistics needs by providing a diverse set of shipping and warehousing options. Whether you require full truckload, LTL, intermodal, rail, ocean or air—the expanded employee base of LinkEx is prepared to provide an unforgettable, top-drawer customer experience that cannot be found elsewhere.
